Here are all the running events for the year 2017 in Bangalore.
Pink Medico Healthathon – 28 May
Location – IVRI Campus, SBM Colony, Anand Nagar, Hebbal, Bengaluru
An event for healthcare awareness with the goal of promoting good health by appropriate physical and mental fitness. In their own words, health is not merely absence of disease but a state of optimum functional fitness.
The event will be followed by check ups and screening for diabetes, cancer, eyes etc to promote healthy lifestyle and also providing affordable healthcare.
The event will include two categories, 5km walk for adults and 2km walk for children and senior citizens.
Jolly Run – 28 May
Location – HSR Layout Sector 1, Gnan Srishti School of Excellence, Bengaluru
The name says it all. A jolly good day to kick off the running freak in you. A 5km run which is perfect for any budding and/or aspiring runner.

Runaddicts 1st Anniversary Run – 4 June
Location – Balakrishna Rangamandira, Rajarajeshwarinagra, Bangalore
An event by the runners, for the runners to spread awareness about the need for fitness. The event will also support the cause ‘Educate a Rural Child’
Participants will get bibs, certificates, hydration and also breakfast.
Runners can choose from three categories, 10k, 5k and 3k.

Revive Bangaluru – Marathon for Greener City – 4 June
Location – No.102/1, Behind New Venugopala Swamy Temple, Opposite Sonesta I Woods, Bellandur, Bengaluru
A collaboration between Times Foundation and Khel India in an attempt to create awareness on preserving nature and bringing back the green glory of Bengaluru.
The event is open to everyone over the age of 13. There are two categories, 10k and 5k to choose from. Participants will be provided with bibs, hydration and breakfast.
Registrations close 31st May.
Green Run – June – 11 June
Location -Behind JR Farm, Hulimangala Road, Bengaluru
Participants will be provided with bibs, certificates, hydration and breakfast. Prizes include running shoes, gift vouchers worth ₹500 and RCB Merchandise.
There are three categories for runners to choose form, 10k, 5k and 3k.
3rd Sunday Women’s Run – For both Men & Women – 18 June
Location – Decathlon Sarjapur, Bengaluru
An event on every 3rd sunday of the month. An event organized my Motherhood to promote health and fitness of all women as well to create a healthy environment for all runners and fitness enthusiasts to meet and socialize.
There are three categories for runners to choose from, 10k, 5k and 3k.

‘Beat the Heat’ Whitefield Timed Run – 25 June
Location – Decathlon Whitefield, Bengaluru
There are four categories for runners to choose from, 10k & 5k for men and women separately.
Participants will be provided with t-shirts, chips, breakfast and hydration. Prizes include medals, trophies and total cash prizes of ₹32,000
Bengaluru 10k Challenge – 9 July
Location – NICE Road, Mysore Road Entrance, Bengaluru
The second edition after a fantastically successful first edition with response from over 7000 runners. The event will only justify the title that Bengaluru boasts, ‘Fitness Capital of India’.
The main event is the 10k timed run along with an additional 5k fun run.

Sports and Beyond Planthope The Run – 23 July
Location – Hoyasala Stadium, Yelahanka New Town, Bengaluru
A ‘Run for Nature’ to connect with the nature along with the company of friends and family. The run will take place by the Allasandra Lake. Other activities will also take place after the run for recreation and socializing.
Participants will receive t-shirts, bibs, timed chips and E-certificate.
Runners will have three categories to choose from, 10k, 5k and 3k.
TRORT 009-The Run of Raramuri Tribe – 29 July
Location – Near KSIT, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru
“The run is organised for a cause, to raise funds for the education and health expenses for HIV infected children.”
Organised by the Raramuri Runners, this will be the 9th edition of the TRORT. The terrain is considered to be one of the toughest for running and that’s the challenge runners love.
There will be three categories in the event, a Full Marathon, a half marathon and a 10k run.

HSR 10k Freedom Run – 15 August
Location – BBMP Ground, Opp. Gnan Srishti School of Excellence, HSR Layout
A charity event organised by Kaagaz Foundation (NGO) for the awareness and promotion of a greener and healthier Bengaluru. They believe public participation in raising awareness over issues will force the authorities to take action. What better way to create awareness via a running event.
The event will have two categories, 10k for adults and 5k for kids under 15.

World Peace 10k Run & 5k Walk – 17 September
Location – Sri Kanteevara Outdoor Stadium, Bangalore
A run to raise funds to support the cause of children with disabilities in India. To raise funds to provide all possible facilities to these children, health, education, assistance tech., employment etc. It also aims at promoting the ideals of freedom, peace and happiness among everyone irrespectively.
The run will kick off at the stadium, then moving to the beautiful Cubbon Park after which it ends at the stadium again.
Needless to mention, the run will have two categories, 10k run and a 5k walk.

Malnad Ultra – 7 October
Location – Ballavara, Karnataka
One of the biggest running events in India with three categories, 50km (9 hours), 80k (15 hours) and 110k (24 hours).
The run kicks off in a remote area in the Malnad Region with the course going through three beautiful coffee plantation fields. The 80k will start and end at the Lalbagh Estate along the same course as the 50km adding two more estates along the way. The challenging and exciting part is there will not be lighted paths. Runners will only use their headlights along the Jeep roads which makes it that much more amazing.
The 110km will cover all of the 50km and 80km and do one section of 30km through Doopadkhan and Sampige Hutti Estates.
It’s safe to say, this is one for the big boys.

Sriram Properties Bengaluru Marathon – 15 October
Location – Shriram Greenfield near Budigere Cross on Old Madras Road, Bengaluru
A huge collaboration between NEB Sports, Runner for Life, Protons Running, BHUKMP, Pacemakers, Jayanagar Jaguars, Runners High and Catalyst Sport.
A run to bring together the people and encourage and promote a healthy and fit lifestyle. The run will go around the city covering the important landmarks.
There are three categories, Full Marathon, Half Marathon and a 5k Charity Fun Run.

Swift Devils Circuit – 5km Obstacle Run – 4 November

India’s biggest obstacle course. The ultimate run to test the mental and physical endurance. 15 different military obstacles across 5 kilometres.
Interested persons can either participate in a competitive or a fun run for the experience. The event also has an after party and a bodybuilding/strength show along with fantastic prizes for the winners.
If challenges and extreme sports/activities are your thing, this is your best bet.
Walkmara 2017 – 2 December
Location – The CEO Center, Hennur Road, Bangalore
A marathon cum Walkathon going upto a distance of 18km from the beautiful locations of Kothanur.
The event aims to bring awareness and sensitivity among the people about organ donation. The event will hold medical consultants to educate about the same.
There are three categories, 18km and 9km for men and women and 3km for kids between the ages of 10 and 15.
